Before you arrive, take a moment to read through it carefully … it covers ALL the details related to your visit.
A few things to know — at a glance
- Check-in is available after 3:00 PM only. The Guest Lodge opens at 3:00 PM, so if you arrive earlier, no one will be there to greet you.
- IMPORTANT — On your check-in day, please confirm your estimated arrival time. It helps us plan our day accordingly.
- Planning to arrive after 8:00 PM, or hoping to check in earlier? Let us know as soon as possible. An early/late arrival fee of $25 applies.
- Check-in takes place at the Guest Lodge, located at the end of the small road on your right, directly in front of the Lièvre Rouge sign as you enter the property.
- Candles are not permitted inside the accommodations.
- To help with your luggage, we provide 1 cart (summer) and 1 sled (winter) per accommodation.
- Haven’t booked your spa time slot yet? No worries — you can take care of that on-site based on availability.

Arrival Information
To help make your arrival smooth and ensure a warm welcome, here are a few important details regarding check-in.
You may arrive any time after 3:00 p.m..
When you arrive on-site, please stop by the Guest Lodge to check in.
During check-in, we’ll give you a pocket guide that includes important information such as the access code to your accommodation, a map of the site and trails, and other helpful details for your stay.
It’s important to keep us informed of your estimated arrival time so we can plan our day and make sure we’re at the Guest Lodge to welcome you.
If you expect to arrive after 8:00 p.m.,
please let us know as early as possible so we can send you the necessary information to reach your accommodation independently.
Early check-in (from 1:00 p.m.) may be available upon request. If you’d like to arrive early, please let us know in advance. A $25 fee applies.
Forest Stay: What to bring?
Our cabins and yurt are equipped so that you can arrive with minimal gear.
Items marked with ($) are available for rent or purchase on-site.
Essentials to Bring:
- Personal items
- Food
- Ice for coolers ($)

- Towels (For showers and/or Spa) ($)

- Lighter or matches
- Snowshoes ($) or crampons
If you have booked an access to the thermal circuit– or would like to book it once you arrive- don’t forget to bring your bathrobe ($), sandals, towels ($), and water bottles.
Additional Useful Items:
- Portable battery to recharge your phones
- Warm socks for wearing in the cabins
- Reusable water bottles and backpacks for your hikes
- Additional kindling to start your fire if you are not as accustomed to wood heat and using a wood stove
As a reminder, we provide the following:
- Battery operated lantern
- 1 Cooler
- 2 X 18L of Drinking water
- Firewood for indoor fires only
- Propane for equipment
- Basic kitchen items: salt, sugar, pepper & olive oil
- The equipment to prep, cook and serve meals
- Necessary equipment to make coffee or tea
- All of the necessary items to clean dishes: Soap, sponges, towels
- Beds equipped with fitted sheets, pillows, and pillowcases

Code of ethics and rules
- For safety reasons, candles, oil lamps, and gas lamps are strictly prohibited inside the cabins and yurt.
- Outdoor fires are permitted only when no fire bans are in effect. Firewood is not included unless added to your reservation, but you can purchase some on-site.
- Please respect our quiet hours between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., to help maintain the peaceful atmosphere for all guests.
- If you’re bringing your dog, please review our dog policy found in the Code of Conduct & Rules section.
Note that we reserve the right to charge fees from the security deposit if the rules are not respected.
Seasonal Notes
Spring is in full swing:
In May and June, the leaves finally take over the trees and flowers burst out everywhere… but mornings and evenings can still be cool, so keep a good sweater within reach.
It’s also the return of bug season. Nothing to ruin your stay, but a few simple habits go a long way toward enjoying the outdoors:
- Avoid perfumes and scented products
- Opt for light-coloured clothing, and cover up with long sleeves and pants
- Wear a hat or cap
- Keep bug spray on hand
- A head net can also come in handy on forest trails
Activities on the move remain fully accessible such as biking, swimming, canoeing, and running. It’s mainly during breaks in the woods or in the evening that you’ll feel them most.
Our accommodations are equipped with outdoor mosquito tents, and we carry a few helpful items for sale at the guest lodge to make your stay even more comfortable.
The Guest Lodge
The Lodge is open daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. During that time, guests are free to come take showers, use the wifi, charge phones or batteries, or simply come enjoy a coffee or tea, read a book, play cards, etc. by the warmth of our fire.
During the summer months, the guest lodge is also open Thursdays to Sundays; 3pm until 7pm
During the rest of the year, the guest lodge is open Fridays and Saturdays; 3pm until 7pm
Outside of these hours, it is possible to arrange access to the showers. Details on how to coordinate access will be provided at check-in.
L’espace du Sous-Bois
Spa-Boutique- Coffee & Cocktail Bar
During your stay, we invite you to stop by Espace Sous-Bois, our gathering place at the heart of the property.
You’ll find a small boutique–dépanneur store filled with favorite finds: coffee from micro-roasters, boreal herbal infusions, easy-to-prepare sous-vide meals for your cabin, local products, stay essentials… and a few carefully chosen surprises.
On site, you can also enjoy the coffee & cocktail bar, open on select afternoons for a good latte, a house-made hot chocolate, a signature cocktail, a glass of wine, or a local craft beer. It’s the perfect place to warm up after time spent in the forest.
Espace Sous-Bois is also home to our thermal circuit, where you can enjoy a private, calming ritual reserved exclusively for one group at a time: sauna, hot tub, relaxation cabin… everything unfolds at your own pace, in the quiet atmosphere and wood-scented air of the forest.
A visit to Sous-Bois always adds something special to the experience – whether to discover a local product, enjoy a slow pause, or treat yourself to a moment of deep relaxation.
How to find us
We are located at the very end of Rang 5&6.
**Rang 5&6 is a residential area with several children. Please be vigilant and adhere to the indicated speed limits.**
Notes for people arriving from the Gatineau/Ottawa area:
If you are coming from the Gatineau/Ottawa region, it is preferable to go through Mont-Laurier via the 309 or take the 311 to the 117.
*IMPORTANT*
DO NOT take the route via Lac François and Chemin Poulin as indicated by Google or Waze, as this road is not cleared in winter and becomes a snowmobile trail. You will likely get stuck, and there is no cell reception in that area.
As of March 2025, Google and waze are showing the correct routes but we cannot be held responsible in the event that this changes.
Notes for people arriving from Mont-Tremblant/ Montréal:
We have noticed that Waze will add about 20 minutes travel time as it makes you pass the Lac Saguay Village and then makes you retrace your steps.
It is preferrable to use Google Maps in this case. We are accessible via the road tucked in between the Ultramar gas station and the poutine shack.

Check-out checklist
We are not demanding, and the only thing we ask of guests is to clean, dry, and put away the dishes before departure and to not leave any food scraps in the kitchen sink.
An additional fee of $25 will be added to your stay if this is not done.
Here is a list of tasks that are also highly appreciated at the time of departure:
- Remove the sheets and pillowcases.
- Ensure to bring firewood inside for the next visitors.
- Make sure to turn off the lights.
- Respect the Leave No Trace concept for the outside of the cabin.
If you happen to break something during your stay, please notify us. This will allow us to plan for necessary replacements or repairs for the next visitors. In the event this information is not communicated, we reserve the right to charge associated fees directly to the security deposit.
