Nestled on the edge of a secluded private lake, this rustic backcountry site invites you to embrace the wilderness at its most authentic.

In the winter months, the site features a cozy prospector tent set on one of the platforms, complete with a wood stove and two military-style beds, creating a warm and comfortable space for cold-weather camping. Activities

With access to over 275 acres of forest, a few lakes, and kilometers of trails, Le Lièvre Rouge provides the perfect setting for outdoor activites any time of year.

During the summer months, and well into fall, our guests will enjoy practicing a variety of activites in and around the lake, such as canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding as well as swimming.

For guests who prefer land based activites, we have a number of trails (and developing more) that are ideal for hiking and biking, and our proximity to the ”Ptit Train du Nord” linear park makes the Lièvre Rouge an ideal basecamp for cyclists.

During the winter months, snowshoes, backcountry skis, and snow bikes can be used to explore the forest.

Other activities that guests can do at Le Lièvre Rouge include mushroom harvesting from middle of August until the middle of September, and participating and learning about maple syrup production during the months of March and April at our very own sugar shack. At all times, forest bathing, bird watching, and simply observing the evolution of the seasons is offered, free of charge!

Currently on site, guests can rent paddleboards, and snowshoes. We provide one canoe with each cabin rental.
